Dex, the AI assistant for your DNS
Dex is an AI assistant built into the dashboard. It reads your profiles and changes them on request, working from the same permissions you would use yourself.
What you can ask it
DNS filtering is powerful and fiddly. Knowing that you want to block a certain site or service at a certain time is easy; finding the profile, the schedule, and the right service among 100s of options is the part people get overwhelmed by.
- “Block TikTok on the kids’ devices until Friday evening.”
- “Why did example.com stop resolving on the living room profile?”
- “Which profile is blocking the most requests this week?”
- “Turn on safe search everywhere, but leave my work laptop alone.”
You can ask anything in plain English and it will get it done for your. It is that easy!
It asks before it changes anything destructive
Reads what you ask
Listing profiles, checking why a domain was blocked, summarising logs, etc so no guessing is involved. If you do not ask about it, Dex will not read it.
Confirms deletions
Anything destructive stops and asks first, and shows you what it is about to do. As it taking action, you can monitor the tasks it is doing.
Scoped permissions
Every connection holds explicit scopes for access. You can control what it is allowed and not allowed to do.
Bring your own assistant (via MCP)
The same tools are available over MCP, the open protocol assistants use to reach external systems. Connect your own client, authorise it over OAuth, and it can manage your DNS with whatever scopes you grant — read-only if that is all you want.
That means the filtering is reachable from wherever you already work rather than only from our dashboard, and the permissions are yours to revoke at any time.
Dex is a privacy-respecting assistant
An AI assistant inside a privacy product deserves a straight answer rather than reassurance, so here is the whole of it.
- Using AI with your account is an optional feature to help you manage your DNS with more ease. If you do not use AI, then AI privacy does not impact you in any way.
- If you use Dex, our built-in assistant, the AI model and hosting provider do not store, log, or train on any of your data. The AI hosting provider only provides compute power for the AI model to process your requests.
- For your convenience, your conversation history with Dex stays on our own servers so that you can resume conversations, but you can delete it whenever you like, and it is removed automatically after 30 days.
The privacy policy explains exactly how we always take your privacy as our top priority.
What it costs
Dex runs on credits you purchase separately — a small one-time payment, not a subscription. Credits never expire while your account is open, and you only pay for what you actually use refilling credits if and when needed. To get you started, we applied free Dex credits to your account so you can try Dex for a while without spending any money.
